Become a Conference Volunteer

  
Volunteers are needed in order to make the 2017 Maryland Women’s Conference & Expo a success. Volunteering is a great way to network while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the conference. For High School juniors and seniors, it’s a great way to fulfill your community service obligations.  Volunteers assist and support the following key areas of the conference:

  • Staff Office
  • Career Café
  • On-site Registration
  • Workshop Aids/Monitors
  • Information & Hospitality Desk
  • Speaker Registration
  • CommunitySTARS Award Dinner
  

Expectations of a Volunteer

  
Volunteers are the front-line of the Maryland Women’s Conference & Expo. Volunteers are highly regarded and expected to be punctual, respectful and helpful at all times the Maryland Women’s Conference takes pride in our volunteers and will ensure that you are trained in all areas of the conference such as the program details, registration setup protocol, meeting room locations, the layout of the venue, and general conference information.
  

Roles & Responsibilities of a Volunteer

Volunteer duties may include, but, are not limited to:
  
  • Administrative duties to include making badges, copies, etc.
  • Speaker, Exhibitor & Attendee Registration
  • Aiding participants with special needs
  • Working registration desk to hand out materials and gift bags
  • Providing information and directions
  • Information and Hospitality Center
  • Serving as facilitators and room monitors for sessions, handing out and collecting session evaluations
  • Assisting speakers and workshop leaders as needed
  • ​Assisting conference planners as needed
